Latin Way

The Latin Way, erected in the 18th century, is among the most emblematic places of the University. In the center, the staircase is topped by a triangular pediment containing the National Shield. In the center is a medallion with a figure of the king D. José I.

This is also accessed by the Rectory and the dependencies, which resulted (mostly) from the Pombaline Reform in 1772.

An unavoidable place in the historic University of Coimbra.
